The very word Thirupparankundram will remind everyone of the imposing hillock and the famous Subramaniyaswamy Temple, the first of the six abodes of Lord Murugan. However, for the last few months, the hillock and the temple are mired in controversies. Firstly, it started over a complaint in early 2025 on consumption of non-vegetarian food on the hillock where Sulthan Sikkandhar Avulia Dargah is also located.
